New in this version:
Along with regular files, MS Outlook® and Outlook
Express® e-mail messages,
SSScanner™ searches in archives. Supported are 7Z, ARJ, BZ2, BZIP2,
CAB, GZ, GZIP, JAR, RAR, TAR, TAZ, TBZ, TBZ2, TGZ, TPZ, XPI, Z, and ZIP files.
Furthermore, SSScanner™ is capable of recursively processing files
within nested archives -- this feature is absolutely unique to this product!
Apart from the possibility to export reports SSScanner™ builds for
you, you may also copy files found by the product by dragging and dropping them
onto desired folders or third-party application windows. If necessary, SSScanner™
automatically extracts files enclosed within archives (at any level and any
combination of nested archive types), and places their copies on the location
you specify (i.e., functions as an archiver like WinZIP®,
WinRAR®, GZIP®, etc.).
Improved was multi-language support: the product automatically recognizes
encoding tables textual and other documents are written in. Plus, added were
3 more "Literal Search" options.
Under Windows Vista® the product adds a text
box for entering queries in every folder that appears.
Added was the possibility to save and restore search results.
No doubt, these and a number of other improvements along with
strength of the core SSScanner™ search engine make the product an

To find paragraphs which match your search phrases, SSSpider™ 4.0 offers 4 different search methods (instead of only one in previous versions), namely:
1) The Subject Search method is capable of selecting paragraphs, in which your
search phrase might be altered, modified, or even misspelled. This method is
especially useful when searching for information you are just getting familiar
with. This method accepts natural queries (entering something like "how can I
rent a car in Germany" is OK), so it is the most powerful and the convenient one.
